Pouring concrete for temporary pavement widening continues.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, traffic on IL Route 176 will be reduced to 1 lane in order to install temporary concrete pavement on the North side of IL Route 176.
The operation will start West of Fairfield in the morning and continue East of Fairfield in the afternoon.
Flaggers will be in place on both sides of the operation to control traffic flow around the operation.
Delays should be expected. Please allow yourself extra travel time if you cannot avoid the area.

On Monday May 13, 2013, traffic on IL Route 176 West of Fairfield will be reduced to 1 lane in order to install temporary concrete pavement on the North side of IL Route 176.
The operation will start at the Lake County Forest Preserve Entrance and head East towards Fairfield.

Traffic Alert: Roadwork Set to Begin
Roadwork on the Fairfield and IL Route 176 Intersection Improvement project is set to begin.
Maintenance of Traffic Signs and Changeable Message Boards will be installed later this week. Work on the temporary traffic signal installation and temporary pavement widening will begin in the next week or so.
Please note that Work Zone Speed Limit restrictions will be in place throughout the duration of the project. The speed limit on Fairfield will be reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH and the speed limit on IL Route 176 will be reduced from 55 MPH to 45 MPH.
Please obey the speed limit, watch for workers and no texting or cell phone use while driving through the construction zone.
The project is scheduled to be complete by August of 2014.

- Installation of Maintenance of Traffic Signs.
- Earth excavation at the Four Winds site and West End Pond site.

Project Update 4/22/13
Work on the project is beginning. Berger Excavating is working on some of the preliminary site work this week. Erosion Control silt fence is being installed at the Four Winds Site and along the construction entrance to the detention basin just West of the LCFPD Discovery Museum entrance. Roadway work is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
Project Update 3/18/13
NPL Construction will be working on the installation of a new 4” plastic gas main for Nicor. The work zone is on the West side of Fairfield South of Route 176 and on the South side of Route 176 West of Fairfield. The work is expected to last for a few weeks. There should be minimal impacts on the flow of traffic as a result of this work.

Berger Excavating was the successful bidder to be the prime Contractor for the Fairfield Road at IL Route 176 Junction Improvement.
